Overview
The Pediatric Radiologist at MedXray is the only fully fellowship trained Pediatric Radiologist in South Dakota. This means advanced imaging expertise and a more thorough understanding of the unique needs of children, parents and pediatricians. Our extensive knowledge of childhood illnesses and diseases allows us to better diagnose a problem and recommend the best avenue of treatment.
In addition to our Pediatric Radiologist, our technologists also specialize in children. As a team, we work hard to make the entire family as comfortable as possible with techniques such as:
• Allowing parents to remain in the room during an exam
• Distracting children with toys
• Explaining the procedure to the child in a way he or she can understand
• Taking the time to visit with patients and address anxieties
• Flavoring the barium with Kool-Aid
• Setting our CT scanners and radiation settings specifically for children
• Creating a warm, friendly atmosphere
